Just because your Grandma lives in a seniors community centre doesn't mean she's no longer living it up and having fun. We have pre-conceived notions that seniors community centres are boring, dull and lifeless. When, in fact, they can actually be quite the opposite.

Senior citizens that live in seniors community centres find plenty of ways to enjoy their lives and have fun, regardless of how old they are, or how much mobility they have. Whether residents of seniors community centres used to be lively and energetic Prince Edward Island real estate agents or stage theatre musical directors back in their youth they've now settled into the next act in their life.

That next life involves enjoying the remaining time they have left in their own little home made movie enjoying themselves and the company of their seniors community centre roommates partaking in a wide range of fun and energetic events and activities. Seniors have this stigma attached to them that they aren't as lively as people half their age but that's really not the case.

Walk into any seniors community centre near your piece of Brampton real estate property and you'll see seniors gathered around playing board games, playing video games, putting on charity events, playing bingo, doing fun exercises such as salsa dancing, playing cards and hosting trivia nights, just to name a few. They're probably having as much fun, possibly even more, than you do in your own 18 Yorkville suite when hosting a party.

In addition to having fun doing things like play board games senior citizens in seniors community centres also involve the rest of the community by hosting events for special occasions such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas. If you're ever out looking at potential Toronto condo sales and are turned off living next to a seniors community centre you might want to give it a second chance, especially if the centre is as fun as the ones we just mentioned.

Just have a little faith when it comes to senior citizens and remember they used to be young once too and probably had the same opinions on senior citizens that you do now. So the next time you're riding in the backseat of a Mississauga airport taxi on the way to visit someone in a seniors community centre start coming up with ideas of things to do instead of dreading every moment.
